[ User Centred ] Design Led Methodology
Design led approaches provide a more efficient way of working via visualising, prototyping and collaborating.
Being design led is about building common understanding, so that everyone on a project understands exactly what is being built. This spans from leaders, business analysts and front-end designers, right through to the back-end teams.

One of the most powerful techniques is to understand the customer journey and use that to identify pain points (from data of course) and map out opportunities. More than just a tool for defining backlogs, it's a useful workshopping method for uniting different functional teams together and understanding the why (common goal).

Principles & Visions
Design Principles usually change as a business evolves. They need to be focused on what the brand & business want to achieve.

Too often they are woolly hygeine statements such as "design for the User ". They need to be strong statements of what to think about with every element of design.

I use them to help direct UX teams & explain to stakeholders what the ultimate experience should "feel" like.

Understanding the users' problems and the business priorities helps define a UX strategy. That vision will always have quick tactical wins as well as the long term pathway.
